Context

Mercado Livre needed to take a single message, free shipping from R$19, the 'Camisa 19', to national scale, with real reach across different generations. The traditional influencer model never delivered that without breaking: you get scale, or control, or a lean operation, almost never all three. On Creator Ads, the company activated 2,091 creators, in one of the largest paid creator campaigns ever run in Brazil. And, according to the brand itself, the result was a wave of demand comparable to, and at times greater than, peaks like Black Friday, with a direct impact on its Distribution Centers. All of this with the internal team spending about 30 minutes a week on the operation.

The campaign in numbers

  • 2,091 creators, who accepted the invite and ran the campaign, selected by SmartMatch
  • 2,035 pieces of content, published and live, at national scale
  • 151.1 million views, total reach of the campaign
  • 49.5 million people, unique reach achieved
  • 104.3 million followers, combined audience of the activated creators
  • 1.05 million engagements, likes, comments and shares
  • 2.1% engagement, engagement rate over reach
  • Frequency 3.0, average number of times each person saw the campaign
  • R$ 0.01 CPV, cost per view of paid media, via native integration with Meta Ads (Boost)

Metrics validated by the brand.

The challenge: national scale without breaking the operation

Taking 'free shipping from R$19' to all of Brazil wasn't a matter of one post. It was a matter of being everywhere, at the same time, with faces each audience recognizes as their own, owning the audience's attention. Each activation would depend on human work that doesn't scale:

  • Sourcing, vetting and contracting thousands of creators, one by one
  • Coordinating briefing, delivery and payment for each participant
  • Making sure no one strays from the brand's script, at scale
  • And doing all of it fast, before the message cools off

Above a handful of creators, the manual process simply doesn't add up, neither in time nor in risk.

The results: Black Friday demand, outside the Black Friday calendar

A central part of the strategy was to run content organically first and then inject paid media into the winning posts, multiplying their impact and efficiency exponentially.

The campaign didn't stay digital. It reached retail and logistics. According to Mercado Livre itself, the volume generated drove a rise in demand comparable to, and at times greater than, peak periods like Black Friday, with a direct impact on its Distribution Centers. In numbers:

  • 151.1 million views of total reach
  • 49.5 million people reached, with an average frequency of 3.0
  • 1.05 million engagements (a 2.1% rate over reach)
  • R$ 0.01 CPV on media boosted via Boost

Seasonal-level demand, generated by a content campaign, without depending on the promotional calendar.

The AI that holds the operation together, and the 30 minutes a week

What makes 2,091 creators manageable by a lean team are Creator Ads' proprietary AIs:

  • SmartMatch selects the right profiles across multiple criteria, territory, style, fit to the briefing.
  • Guardian analyzes every piece of delivered content, ensuring compliance with the briefing and the brand's guidelines, at scale, without manual profile-by-profile review.

The practical effect: even in an operation of this magnitude, Mercado Livre's internal team spent about 30 minutes a week managing the campaign. The AI centralizes invites, deliveries, validation and payment; people decide the strategy.

This is the future of media: more capillary, more inclusive, more efficient.

Brand safety at scale: thousands of pieces, on script

In an activation with thousands of pieces, the biggest concern is usually control. Here, it becomes the biggest source of peace of mind. With Guardian, every piece of content is analyzed against the briefing and the brand's guidelines, and every decision is logged. The difference isn't giving the feeling of control, it's giving the proof of control. The managerial risk of 'what if something slips through among thousands of pieces' ceases to exist, because there's a trail of everything.

Why it matters

Mercado Livre's campaign proved, at the largest possible scale, the Creator Ads thesis: you can have national scale, auditable control and a lean operation at the same time. What once forced the brand to pick two out of three now delivers all three, in the timeframe of your next campaign.

Scale the manual model can't reach. Auditable brand safety. Content that becomes measurable media, run by a lean team.
